I did these for the ACAD Comic Con Field guide. A bit of promotion they’ll have during the expo to promote their school, my old stomping grounds. They were quick little characters and I had fun with them.

I took a page outta Daryl’s book and did some quick concepts to loosen up a bit. Each thumb is a minute long and the whole exercise takes an hour. I then just took one and spent some more time on it.
Happy New Year ya’ll

An older sketch of a pastoral crash site. I don’t think I ever posted this.
Merry Christmas everyone!

I started selling these on Etsy here: http://www.etsy.com/listing/88968094/draw-cool-shit
A while ago I was able to procure a vinyl cutter through my work for a decent price and I’ve cut a couple signs since but I really just wanted it so I could put cool stuff on my walls. Nothing better than a nice typeset on a wall if you ask me. Anyway, I put “Draw Cool Shit” and put it up in my studio. It’s a good reminder. My cousin gave me the idea that I should spread the love a little, so I did.
It’s a 6″ x 7″ Vinyl Decal
Cut from exterior-rated, waterproof Vinyl
Pretty much mounts to just about anything but for durability it is preferred that you mount it to something dry, smooth and clean.

Here is an update to a project I have been working on (slowy) and I hope to get a more substantial package done during the new year. It’s one of the many story lines I have kicking around in my head, particularly one that tickles my historical-fiction-bone enough to put some solid work into it.
Some of these are compiled from previous posts but I thought it worth it to display it
all together.

Thought it would be cool to participate in The Next 5 exercise I see going around. It’s a fun exercise and some good practice, I’ll probably take part again.
The premise is that you you take a picture from the internet (or otherwise) and use it as your first panel. Then you create the next 5 sequences in the story, whatever you wish that to be. My first image was this and below is where I took it:
fun!
